
Fuji Musician, Wasiu Ayinde, known as KWAM 1 has filed a notice at the High Court of Justice , Ijebu Ode, Ogun State to discontinue the suit he filed to stop the ongoing selection process of the new Awujale of Ijebuland.
The notice was filed on his behalf by his team of lawyers led by Wahab Shittu.
The notice was filed on Monday December 22, 2025 shortly after Hon. Justice A. A. Omoniyi of the High Court 3, Ijebu-Ode Judicial Division ruled that the interim injunction prayed for by KWAM 1 asking for the court to restrain the Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and others including the Fusengbuwa Ruling House from proceeding with the selection of a New Awujale of Ijebuland lacked merit.

Justice Omoniyi however ruled that expeditious hearing of the substantive matter can proceed and fixed 14 January 2026 for continuation of proceedings.
KWAM 1 , the Olori OmoOba of Ijebuland from the FIDIPOTE Ruling House, approached the Court after the Fusengbuwa Ruling House ruled that he’s not a bona fide member of the ruling house and as such would not be allowed to Vie to the stool on their platform.

With the notice of discontinuation, KWAM 1 has recused himself from the selection process.
