Remo Stars will look to seal a historic first  Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title with a home win over Niger Tornadoes in Ikenne on Sunday (today).

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side have been runners up in the last two seasons.

Victory over Niger Tornadoes will give the Sky Blue Stars an unassailable 68 points with three matches remaining before the end of the campaign.

Their closest challenger, Rivers United lost 2-0 to Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Friday.

Finidi George’s side may now have to settle for second position.

Remo Stars will thus become the first South-West club to win the NPFL title since Julius Berger in year 2000, and the first privately owned club in 20 years.

Defunct Udoji United were the last privately  owned club to win the title.
