Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, has explained why he took Marcus Rashford off during the half time of their 3-2 win over Levante on Saturday.

Flick had handed Rashford his first start for the LaLiga champions.

But the 27-year-old was replaced by Raphinha as the second half began.

Flick was forced into changing his gameplan as Barca trailed 2-0 at the interval.

His changes proved decisive as they produced a stunning comeback with a late Unai Elgezabal own goal putting the seal on a 3-2 win.

When asked about his decision to substitute Rashford, Flick said: “He showed us how good he is.

“In the second half, I had to change things and put Raphinha back in the starting eleven. Fortunately, Pedri ‘s goal helped us.”
