A young Nigerian lady has shared a heartbreaking experience working as a housemaid for a pastor’s family, revealing the abuse and hardship she endured behind closed doors.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that working in the home of a pastor was one of the most difficult periods of her life.

According to her, while the husband was a pastor and the wife was addressed as “Mummy,” the treatment she received was far from kind.

She revealed that Sunday was the only day she was allowed into the sitting room, and even then, it was just to briefly watch films.

Recalling an incident where a door was mistakenly left open, she said the madam allegedly threatened her:

“She told me that if anything happened to her child, even if she saw just one bite mark on the child’s body, she would throw me from upstairs to downstairs.”

She also claimed that the woman boasted that if any case reached the police and her money could not settle it, she would use her father’s money to close the case.

Out of fear and a desire to avoid trouble, the young woman stayed silent for a long time, but she said she is no longer afraid to speak out.

The story has triggered strong reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences. A commentator wrote, “Some pastor houses are worse than hell,” while another added, “Religion doesn’t equal kindness.”
