The Corporate Affairs Commission has announced a temporary suspension of the companies’ registration portal.

The Commission made this known in a statement on its X account on Wednesday.

DAILY POST reports that CAC confirmed an unfortunate incident of a cyberattack on its database affecting millions of data points in Nigeria.

According to the statement, CAC’s portal suspension is expected to last for three days, from 17th April to Monday the 20th.

CAC noted that it is in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency to mitigate the incidence.

Similarly, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission announced the commencement of an investigation into the data breach on Friday, he said.

“To serve you better, we will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on our portal this weekend, from 12:00 midnight today, 17th April 2026, to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, 20th April 2026.
