Gospel singer Judikay has shared an emotional testimony about the birth of her daughter, recalling how doctors reportedly gave concerning reports during her pregnancy.
In a heartfelt video circulating online during a church service, the singer said she travelled to Canada at 34 weeks to put to birth and went for a routine scan.
According to her, the medical personnel carrying out the scan appeared worried and kept asking her to change positions repeatedly.
“At 34 weeks, they told me my baby was not breathing. I said, ‘How can the breath of God not breathe?’ We had already named her Ume Chukwu before we travelled,” she recounted.
Judikay explained that the situation became more alarming when she was allegedly told that her baby did not have a nose and would need to undergo tests for Down syndrome.
Instead of proceeding with the tests, she said she contacted her husband, who encouraged her to trust God and reject the negative reports.
“My husband said, ‘You will not go for any test. Tear that slip.’ So I tore the slip, and we entered hours of thanksgiving every day. We kept declaring that we had received an excellent and perfect child,” she added.
The gospel singer further revealed that the challenges continued on the day of delivery. She said she was in labour and fully dilated but struggled to push the baby out despite the contractions.
According to her, after she eventually delivered, she discovered that the umbilical cord had been wrapped around her baby’s neck twice and had strangled the baby to the point that the child had passed stool in the womb.
Judikay, however, described the outcome as a miracle, thanking God for seeing her and her baby through the difficult experience.
