“I just feel like getting in the right mental headspace has been the biggest thing for me with recovering from my eating disorder and just trying to have a better relationship with my body and food in general,” Taylor told PEOPLE ahead of New York City’s Fashion Week. “I think being in the best mental headspace when you’re going into an environment like modeling where your body is out there, and people are open to making criticism of it, just making sure that you’re mentally good has been my top priority coming into this fashion week.”

For those unfamiliar, Taylor opened up about her struggle during season 4 of the hit Hulu reality show. So, what prompted Taylor to finally come out? According to her, it was her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, who filmed season 4 of “SLOMW” alongside her.

“Honestly, I went through a breakup at the beginning of this year, and I feel like for just a long period of my life, I was constantly living my life for other people,” she said. “Whether that was being a mom or I was in a marriage at one point, I was married. And I just feel like I was always fulfilling other people around me. And it honestly just caused me to never really focus on myself and never be able to really just sit alone with who I am as a person.”
