‘It’s wrong’ – Shehu Sani reacts as Senate declares Mele Kyari wanted

Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has faulted the decision of the Senate to declare former Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, wanted.

DAILY POST reports that following his alleged involvement in a N210 trillion fraud between 2017 and 2023, the upper legislative chamber had repeatedly invited Kyari.

But due to his repeated absence, the Senate on Wednesday ordered his arrest by declaring him wanted.

Reacting, Shehu Sani in a post on his official Facebook page, said the former NNPCL boss has a track records of respecting NASS invitations, urging the lawmakers to be fair to him.

He wrote, “Declaring Mele Kyari “wanted” by the Senate without following the due process of consideration to the excuse of his absence is wrong.

“To be fair to him, he has the track records of respecting NASS invitations and defending himself.”
