Troops of Forward Operating Bases, FOB AUDU and BABANNA, have conducted a fighting patrol around the Saminaka–Kanau general area in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Popular security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a report he posted on his official X handle on Wednesday.

He said the operation, which took place at about 10:30 hours on 14 June 2026, followed credible intelligence on the presence of a suspected terrorist hideout in the area.

Although no contact was made with the suspected terrorists during the patrol, the troops successfully located and destroyed the hideout as well as an associated logistics and administrative area believed to be used by the criminals.

Military sources confirmed that the operation was carried out professionally without incident.

The report also indicated that efforts are ongoing to further dominate the general area and deny criminal elements freedom of action.
