The return of Boniface and Tella to the scoresheet together will serve as a source of optimism for Leverkusen as they gear up for the new season.

Boniface spent the previous season on loan at Werder Bremen, but his time away from Leverkusen was marred by injury issues, which hindered his ability to achieve consistency.
