Megyn Kelly has joined the list of those raising concerns about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s parenting.
The popular journalist brought the issue of the celebrities’ parenting skills and styles back into the spotlight after their daughter, North West, recently posed for a “Dazed” magazine cover. In the photos, the teenager donned her long neon-blue hair and multiple facial and finger piercings.
Megyn Kelly is not the first person to raise dust over Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s parenting, especially because of North’s distinctive gothic dress style.
4Kelly started a segment of her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” with a burning question. “Does North West have good parents?” she asked Dr. Drew, who was a guest on the August 26 episode of the show. The journalist went on to highlight North’s cover pictures for the British magazine, pointing out her teeth grills, blue hair, and facial piercings.
The media personality expressed disbelief, then made a personal comparison between the 13-year-old rapper and her son, Thatcher, who is the same age as North, but with birthdays about a month apart.
Kelly said she is very familiar with children in that age bracket before revealing that her “sweet little boy” enjoys riding his bike, playing tennis, and playing bucket golf in the backyard “with his buddies.” The journalist said North is being rushed into stardom, slamming her looks as “bizarre.”
Dr. Drew chimed in, highlighting that there may be more to North’s actions. He mentioned that there are traces of bipolar disorder in the teenager’s family, in addition to having “parents that have not been available.”

4Kelly continued speaking on her podcast about the multiple piercings social media has caught a glimpse of on North. She mentioned the thigh piecing she recently debuted and a previous statement where North expressed her desire to get her bridge pieced.
The TV host also analyzed North’s music, reading some lyrics from her song “Ashite” before playing a clip from the music video, which Dr. Drew tagged as “disturbing.”
Still speaking about the teen’s music career, Kelly said she released her debut album at 12 and has already performed on stage with Kanye before noting “these two have manipulated it such that she has gotten other on-stage gigs,” referring to Kardashian and her ex-husband.
Later in the conversation, Kelly said that the former couple has shown they are more concerned with being on camera than with parenting. She stressed that Kardashian wants North to be a star and is rushing the process.

Kris Jenner celebrated her granddaughter’s win by posting the magazine cover pictures on Instagram. The slideshow of seven photos featured North flaunting her teeth grills, gothic-themed outfits, piercings, and signature neon-blue hair.
Fans took to the comments section, criticizing Kardashian for letting her teenage daughter go that far with her fashion. “Northy is going southy,” a comment read. “The adults in her life simply need to do better,” another added, while a separate commenter noted, “This isn’t going to end well.”
Several users expressed that seeing the teenager they watched grow up like this was “so sad” and heartbreaking. They penned that they hoped that she realized, turned her life around, and enjoyed her childhood.

During an appearance on an episode of the popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Kardashian told Alex Cooper that she wholeheartedly supports her daughter’s creativity and fashion style. She revealed that she did not try to talk her firstborn out of dyeing her hair blue.
Kardashian also disclosed that letting North do whatever she felt comfortable with her dressing has boosted her confidence and built a close bond between them.

“I think like any mom of a teenager or a preteen, unless you’ve been here, like, please, we just need a little bit of grace,” the “KUWTK” star told Cooper. She also asked the online users to be less judgmental, as she is a single mom raising four kids and has a lot to figure out.
Kardashian said she was doing her best to raise good children despite what the world thinks. In addition, the TV personality told Cooper that the media picked on North for that outfit because “all the kids are like wearing the same things.”
Overall, the SKIMS founder reiterated that she is in the process of raising a teenager for the first time, so she is still learning.
