Human rights activist and member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Aisha Yesufu, has blasted the blockade of Peter Obi from entering Yelwata Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camp in Benue.

Yesufu stated that no individual or group should decide where political candidates can and cannot campaign in Nigeria.

DAILY POST reports that there was tension in Benue State on Tuesday after suspected thugs allegedly blocked a major road as Obi arrived in the state.

Speaking after the incident, Obi decried the state of Nigerian politics, clarifying that his presence in the state was strictly humanitarian rather than campaign-driven.
