Kroy Biermann‘s financial troubles are back in the spotlight as an old gambling dispute resurfaces while his family faces another major legal battle involving his teenage son.

The latest development brings a complicated piece of the former NFL star’s past back into focus, raising fresh questions about the financial strain and personal conflicts that have followed his split from Kim Zolciak.

Kroy Biermann’s marriage to Kim Zolciak unraveled publicly in 2023 after 11 years together, with their divorce battle becoming tangled in accusations about money, gambling, and parenting.

Kroy’s gambling history is back in the spotlight, and the timing could hardly be more complicated. An old casino debt from a trip to the Bahamas has now resurfaced as his family deals with the much bigger legal storm surrounding his son.

The former NFL star’s problems stem back to November 2021, when he is said to have borrowed $52,500 in gambling chips using a line of credit from Baha Mar Casino. The balance was never repaid and eventually morphed what was probably a casino tab into a far more severe legal issue.

Years later, that unpaid debt has followed Kroy back to Georgia, adding another financial headache to the string of money problems that have dogged his family for years.

The Casino Debt Eventually Turned Into A Court Judgment

According to Us Magazine, Kroy Biermann was ordered to pay more than $64,000 over the outstanding casino debt after Sky Warrior, the company handling credit lines for Baha Mar Casino, pursued the money in court.

The original lawsuit centered on a $100,000 line of credit that Kroy allegedly used during his Bahamas trip, with $52,500 ultimately spent in casino chip markers. The company claimed he left without paying the balance despite allegedly indicating that he had money available in his SunTrust account to cover it.

What makes the old dispute particularly striking is when it came back into his life. Kroy was served with the post-judgment order at his Georgia home on August 28, just days after his son KJ was arrested, bringing an old financial issue crashing back into the middle of an already turbulent family crisis.

Kroy Biermann And Kim Zolciak’s Divorce Put Gambling Under A Microscope

Long before Kroy Biermann’s own casino debt became a court issue, gambling was already one of the biggest flashpoints in his messy split from Kim Zolciak.

When Biermann filed for divorce in May 2023, he accused Zolciak of spending substantial amounts of marital money on gambling and other games of chance. Court documents claimed her alleged behavior had “financially devastated” the family.

At the same time, Biermann also raised concerns about how much time she was allegedly spending gambling and whether it was affecting the care of their four minor children. The allegations quickly became part of the couple’s wider battle over money, parenting and responsibility for their financial troubles.

Biermann asked the court to order Zolciak to undergo a psychological evaluation, arguing that her alleged gambling behavior could point to underlying issues. At the same time, a source close to Zolciak pushed back by telling PEOPLE that she had been gambling but claimed she was “winning.”

The Money Problems Were Bigger Than One Gambling Debt

Kroy’s casino dispute was hardly the only financial headache hanging over his family. During his divorce battle with Kim Zolciak, the couple also faced mounting bills, spending disputes, and growing concerns about how their money was being handled.

The Blast previously reported that a Georgia judge ordered Zolciak to repay nearly $2,500 in credit card debt after she allegedly stopped making payments on a Target National Bank account.

The former couple also faced the threat of losing their Alpharetta home as Truist Bank moved toward foreclosure proceedings over their outstanding debts.

And then there was the spending dispute. Kroy allegedly presented records showing hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on luxury purchases, while also pointing to payments involving lottery tickets and Bitcoin. With financial accusations flying in both directions, the old casino debt now looks like just one piece of a much larger money story.

Kroy Biermann Appeared ‘Devastated’ As His Son’s Future Hung In The Balance

The former NFL player seemed especially affected by the bond hearing; he apparently struggled to hide the pressure of the moment. Kroy’s estranged wife sat in a different part of the courtroom, and he was said to look ‘visibly stressed’ as the hearing proceeded.

An eyewitness reportedly said Kroy looked “devastated” and that the seriousness of the situation showed in his expression. He reportedly remained in the second row of the public gallery, keeping his distance from Kim throughout the hearing.

The former couple may have arrived separately and avoided one another, but their son’s situation clearly brought them into the same room at a pivotal moment.

For Kroy, watching KJ face the possibility of a long legal battle has added another painful chapter to a family life already played out under intense public scrutiny.
