Carrot Top’s alleged extortionist is putting things into perspective.
The man, accused of attempting to finesse the comedian out of his hard-earned money to prevent the release of sexually explicit content, has insisted he had nothing to do with that ongoing narrative.
Carrot Top was reportedly ferried to the hospital in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18, following an alleged suicide attempt amid his longest-running residency currently ongoing in the city.

The man, identified as Brian Evans, said he has no record of the USB drive that Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, and his legal team mentioned in the lawsuit against him.
In the filing, the comedian’s lawyers accused Evans of trying to get money from Th in exchange for not releasing the explicit content. The alleged blackmailer stressed:
“I never threatened – ever – to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement. … The video they are discussing – as I made very clear – was deleted a long time ago in accordance with the prior settlement.”
Evans then said he felt really sorry for Carrot Top, who attempted to hurt himself. Evans emphasized that he does not think the comedian is a bad person, even though he made a few unhealthy decisions, but that gave him no reason to do something so drastic.
The musician concluded the statement to TMZ by reiterating that he held no fault in the issue, as no one had any idea what Carrot Top did. He expressed relief at the fact that he survived the suicide attempt and urged him to take advantage of the years ahead of him, while reassuring Carrot Top that he never intended to ruin his brand.

The Blast shared that Carrot Top’s slated late-night show at the Luxor in Vegas for September 18 was abruptly canceled after news filtered that he had been rushed to the hospital.

Carrot Top’s attorney Ronnie Birman claimed that Evans had planned to use the alleged tape as leverage during settlement negotiations.
In the filing made on September 3, the attorney alleged that Evans threatened to make the recording available in public court records where the media could easily reach it. The lawyer noted that Evans based his refusal on the comedian paying him off.
Evans’ history with Carrot Top began when he opened for the comedian during his Las Vegas residency. The former sued him in Florida for allegedly sending him unsolicited suggestive content in 2022 or 2023.
In a rebuttal, Evans said characterizing his communications about the footage as a motive for extortion was false, and stressed that the email was meant to be confidential. The musician also denied threatening to publish a video in exchange for money.

Detailing his feelings to The Blast, Carrot Top declared, “It’s just breathtaking to me; I even find it odd when I think about the first time I went on stage and tried to do a joke, and 40 years later, I’m still doing it in Vegas, and it’s amazing.”
When he is not on stage performing, the star enjoys staying indoors and taking walks around Red Rock to explore the stunning mountains. He described the hills in Vegas as spectacular and the closest outlet for anyone to walk into another world.
Interestingly, comedy was not initially part of Carrot Top’s plan, as he had a completely different upbringing outside the entertainment sphere, raised by a NASA-employed father and a mother who owned a tennis shop.
He recalled staying up to watch Johnny Carson’s show, while his mother encouraged his interest by buying him comedy recordings from acts like Benny Hill, The Three Stooges, and the Marx Brothers.
His comedy career then began after a friend encouraged him to try an open mic as a novice, and the feedback encouraged him to keep performing. Carrot Top eventually took his act to a West Palm Beach comedy club, and it has gone upward from there.
