Prince William and Prince Harry may be feuding behind closed doors, but they still appear to respect each other.
According to new sources, Prince William, also known as the Prince of Wales, has reportedly been offered a spot to appear in a new documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana.
However, insiders revealed that the 44-year-old and father of three declined the opportunity to appear for a specific reason, and it has everything to do with his brother, Prince Harry.

With the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death approaching in 2027, historians and documentarians have been considering different ways to honor her.
A documentary was made for the 20th anniversary of her passing in 2017, featuring Prince William and Prince Harry.
However, with relations between the brothers reportedly at an all-time low, a source told The Sunday Times that Prince William declined to participate to avoid being “pitted against” his younger brother.

According to The Blast, Prince Harry has been considering creating his own documentary about his mother. A source claimed that the Duke of Sussex has connected with several family members and former friends in the UK to prepare.
If the documentary comes to be, it will come a year after Prince William and Prince Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, released a book about his sister, Diana.
“Swan Song” was released in mid-September 2026 and told Diana’s story from her youngest brother’s perspective. It also featured bombshell claims about alleged mistreatment she suffered at the hands of members of the Royal Family.
Spencer is rumored to be a major part of Prince Harry’s reported documentary, royal reporter Tom Sykes said. “There is no denying [Spencer] is a big name, and he will give the documentary credibility. So [the Sussexes] need to woo him and get him onside,” he shared.

The claim that Prince William has refused to appear in a documentary honoring his mother out of concern that he’d be “pitted against” his brother comes amid their years-long reported beef.
According to InStyle, things turned frosty between the two princes in 2018, when a source claimed Prince Harry was angry that his brother refused to “roll out the red carpet” for his wife, Meghan Markle.
Things appeared to worsen when, in June 2019, Prince Harry and Markle parted ways with Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, and their joint charity, The Royal Foundation.

A source said Prince William is focused on his family rather than Prince Harry and Markle, while another insider said William and his father, King Charles, are “united” in their view that Harry and Markle won’t represent the royal family in any capacity.
While Prince William has reportedly given his father the freedom to pursue a relationship with Harry, the source claimed William will have nothing to do with him. “But looking toward the future, he will have no relationship with them, in a working or private capacity whatsoever,” they said.
