The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed five volunteer personnel from its service over what it described as unethical conduct, unprofessionalism, and gross indiscipline.
The dismissal was approved by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, following the outcome of disciplinary proceedings that found the affected volunteers guilty of conduct inconsistent with the standards and values of the Corps.
The dismissed personnel were identified as Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, all uniforms, identification cards, and other official kits issued to the affected individuals have been withdrawn and confiscated.
The command also directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and other relevant officers across Kano State to take note of the development and ensure that the dismissed individuals are neither recognised nor engaged in any capacity on behalf of the Corps.
Commandant Agalama reaffirmed the command’s zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, warning that any personnel found engaging in acts capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute would face appropriate disciplinary action.
The command, however, did not provide details of the specific offences committed by the dismissed volunteers.
