Brenda Fricker’s Biography
Brenda Fricker was a talented Irish actress whose career spanned six decades, making her mark on stage and screen.
Born on February 17, 1945, in Dublin, Ireland, she initially pursued journalism before stumbling into acting at 19 with an uncredited role in “Of Human Bondage” (1964).
Fricker’s breakthrough came when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Christy Brown’s mother in My Left Foot (1989).
She went on to appear in over 30 films and TV shows, including, The Field (1990), Home Alone 2, Lost in New York (1992), and A Time to Kill (1996) .
